Bettina (Epstein) Moss

I've happily spent the past 18 years in Los Angeles (a place I swore I would never live) with my husband, Richard. We have a 13 year old son, Jacob, who is an avid guitarist and BMX enthusiast. The BMX obsession is highly ironic since my husband and I are two of the most risk adverse people we know. Jacob hasn't broken anything yet but it's only a matter of time. Richard is a commercial real estate developer and attorney and I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in children and families. I stopped working about 4 years ago to be a full-time mom and haven't looked back. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and am finishing up 6 months of chemotherapy this month. The prognosis is very good and I look forward to getting back to living an active life. About 2 years ago, at Jacob's urging, I began learning to play the electric bass (something I wanted to do for 20 years). Once I'm fully recovered I'm considering putting together a band of middle-aged moms and taking it on the road. I had hoped to make it to the reunion but the chemotherapy has left me too exhausted to travel. I hope it's a great event.

George Lancina

In the summer of '79, I worked in construction in Wyoming. In the late fall I came back to live in Santa Rosa for a year. Then joined the Coast Guard in early '81 where I trained as an electronics technician (ET). Boot camp was in Alameda and ET school was in New York on Governer's Island. Then from late '81 to late '82 I was stationed at a very remote spot called Kure Island in the Hawaiian chain. Next I lived for two years in Carolina Beach, NC. I then attended an advanced ET training school held by the Navy in San Diego. My last duty station was in Yorktown, Virginia where I lived for three years until early '89. At the end of my enlistment, I was an E-6 (ET1). During my last three years in the Coast Guard, I saved up money for going back to school, so I attended the Santa Rosa Junior College (JC) to prep for transfer. After two years time, I was nearly ready for transfer to UC Davis. It was then that I got very ill with a life-threatening cancer called lymphoblastic lymphoma. After a year of chemo-therapy culminating in a bone marrow transplant, the cancer was gone and I was lucky to be alive. But I had used up all my college money and had to go back to work. I took a job at the Junior College supporting the computer science lab and tried to continue schooling by taking few more classes at Sonoma State. I let the schooling goal slip by as I took on more and more work. I met my wife here at the JC and we were married in '94. I'm still here working at the JC where my job has expanded to supporting computer labs and servers around the campus. Life is good.

Joe Limov

Spent 15 years in the classroom as a middle school science teacher (must have been Fletcher's influence) and then the past three years as principal. It must have been the fact that I never attended middle school (Carmel Mission graduate) that I now get to spend lots of time there. We (my wife Miriam and two daughters) live on a small ranch just outside of Grass Valley, CA up in the foothills of the Sierras.

I live near Fairbanks, Alaska, with my husband of 20-plus years, Mark, and 7-year-old son, Jake. I worked as an editor for several years (after English degrees at UC Davis and Washington State). I am currently a stay-at-home parent. Jake is a smart, verbal, gregarious kid, who keeps me rethinking nearly everything I ever thought! I enjoy running, following news, gardening, taking care of lots of family pets, and volunteering at the animal shelter, school, etc. My parents still live in Carmel Valley, so I get to visit the Peninsula now and then.

Sue (Morris) Strickland

After graduating from UCLA with a vocal performance degree, I moved to Cape Cod for a short time to help my mom run her B & B. From there I moved to Buffalo, NY, to work with an international student ministry. I met Frank there (who is from Georgia!) and we've been
married for 17 years. We moved to Massachusetts and eventually Maine, courtesy of the Army. He is now retired and we have been settled in Maine for almost 10 years. Frank is the CFO for a small wood importing company and an avid fly fisherman. He's even converted me. We have three kids: Seth, 14; Hannah, 12; and Benjamin, 10. I have home schooled the kids all along, although now my older two take part time classes at a nearby private school. In the last three years I have been able to sing professionally in the Mid-Coast region, enjoying every minute of it. We are actually coming to the reunion in conjunction with a visit to my dad in southern CA. I look forward to seeing all my forever 18- year-old classmates!

Robin (Pease) Travenick

My husband Ron and I and our two children have lived in Walnut Creek for 15 years. We've been married for 18 years and met in Washington State where I was in graduate school. Our son Graham is thirteen and a speed swimmer, bari sax player and Boy Scout (those of you who might remember Steve Allard from Barracudas, he was Graham's coach a few years ago here in Walnut Creek!!!). Sarah is nine and busy with MANY activities including gymnastics (she's a human pretzel), drama and Girl Scouts. I own my own business and Ron is a Dean at Ohlone College in Fremont. Most of our siblings live in the Bay Area so we spend lots of time with nieces and nephews. We still get down to Carmel often to visit my parents who STILL live on Carmel Valley Road. Those of you who know Sarah, feel free to stop in and visit her at Curves where she works (at 67!).

After spending 6 years in Ohio we have moved back to the West coast. Hood River, Oregon is now home for us! Our two children Matthew (12) and Eleanor (10) are enjoying the country living on a 40 acre pear and apple orchard. We have two new additions to the family. Jodi and Sheriden horses for the kids to ride. Thanks to Mike and Susan (Sturges) Foster for coaching us in fence building in the early spring in Bend, Oregon, we have a nice fenced pasture for the horses.
I left corporate America (BFG) in 1998 and started my own aircraft interior business based in Jefferson City, TN where my partner lives. I work out of the house and enjoy the flexibility that working at home owning your own business has. I travel around the country and to Europe. Besides the aircraft business I run my wife Lori's family cherry farm in The Dalles, Or. Never a dull moment at the Robertson house hold.
If anyone is ever in Hood River, please stop by for a visit.

in Tahoe 2004

Charlotte Rosburg

Charlotte now makes Tahoe home, after having lived the last 20 years in Carmel. Her daughter Drew(17), still in Carmel, will be a senior at Carmel High this next year. The advertising agency she established in '81 still remains in Monterey; however in '96 she sold her interest in the business.
In Tahoe life is great - skiing and ice skating in the winter and enjoying the beauty of the Lake in the summer. Her younger daughters Claire(9) and Grace(6) keep her going nonstop. Charlotte now works in helping get a Community Land Trust established that will create affordable housing for the residents of Tahoe. Any free time goes to learning skills to one day become a master artist.

Stacy T. (Snow) Feiler

Sorry :-( we (John & Stacy, Gina, Genny, Tony, Timmy, Jarred & Jacey) won't be attending the reunion. It's right in the middle of the school year for us in Florida and it's just too much to make up for at least the four : in middle (Gina 13 yr. 8th grade & Genny 11 yr.6th grade) & elementary (Tony 9 yr.4th grade & Timmy 7 yr.2nd grade)- the preschoolers (Jarred 4 yr. & jacey 2 yr.) would know the difference. John is still working for Aclarian Mortgage, Inc.as a Senior Loan Officer (john@aclarian.com; 1-866-685-9500)) and loves his work there, as for me I still maintain my web site: www.stacy.catholiccompany.com, and do book & gift fair for the Catholic Churches in the Tampa Bay area. We have quite a few musicians in the family now- Gina is an accomplished Classical guitarist and also plays harp & piano, Genny is a singer and was in All county chorus, sings for weddings & Church events and is a bagpiper and a beginner pianist, Tony rocks on the drums and is known as the fastest double base player for his young nine years, timmy still is playing violin, and Jarred now wants to play it as well, Jacey loves the percussion's- the louder the better and me- well, my goal is to learn the cello this year. We have a big 31' class C camper and spent a lot of time camping at the beach this summer- I discovered that I don't skim board as well as I used to at Carmel beach many years ago.... but it was hilarious trying! :-D The kids get a huge kick out of my crashes!

  Enid Stewart

In 1979 I left Monterey for Arkansas when my Father and Grandmother took ill at the same time. I stayed there over two years. When I returned to the Peninsula I ended up taking a job with National Content Liquidators, Inc. which was the contracted company for the former San Carlos Hotel that became the Sheraton, next to the downtown Doubletree. I requested a leave of absence from NCL, made a pit stop in Scottsdale, Arizona and have been in Arizona ever since. 20+ years!
Mid 80's to the early 90's I was attending school "on the installment plan," as my paternal Grandfather used to call it. Various food & beverage, retail, and daycare jobs. Program Coordinator and Homestay Counselor for Pacific American Institute, a foreign exchange student organization. Even a Jazzercise substitute instructor. The last retail position, in a Men's Fine Italian Sportswear Boutique, segued me into becoming an independent Personal Shopper, with an infamous clientele: many AZ State and U.S. Gov't politicos; the resort hopping Hollywood and sports celebrities; and the notorious Joseph Bonanno, Sr. I drop his name alone, because he and I shared numerous sweet, intimate tete a tetes about la familia and, with regard to my maternal Grandfather with whom Mr. Bonanno used to play golf and cards with, Back in the Day.
In 1994 I went back to school to pursue an MA in Child Psychology, with an emphasis on Developmental and Behavioral studies, and was working full time at the campus Child Development Center. Additionally, my BA core requirement for language had been ASL, American Sign Language. I was also working as the horse wrangler and seeing-eye guide for the legally blind Miss Country Western, AZ.
Not long into that academic pursuit I started experiencing osteoarthritis of the fingers and toes--- alot of my recreational outdoor activities/hobbies such as hiking, backpacking, mountain climbing, mountain biking became intolerable--- then shortly thereafter the full-on gamut of EBV symptoms. The scholastic endeavors were pretty much squelched when I was unable to get disability accommodations from the university, for the cyclical cognitive difficulties I was dealing with at that time.
I moved to Tucson in '99 and went to work in Sales and Marketing for The Westward Look Resort. From there, on to Registration and Guest services with Canyon Ranch Health Spa and Resort. Made lots a notable contacts through both of those employers, thusly, was head hunted from there to go to work as an Activities Coordinator and Animal Facilitated Therapist, for Tumbleweed Compadre Inc. It is a non-profit organization providing day camps of horseback trail rides and desert wildlife introductions, experiences for ADDI's, Adult Developmentally Disabled Individuals.
These days I'm semi self-employed as an LPN. That is to say, a Loving Pet Nanny. I do in-home, overnight stays care taking people's pets while they are out of town. That was parlayed from my previous background and experience with Tumbleweed, and the Humane Society certification of Animal Behaviorist. Currently, I have ten clients for a total of 22 pets. Affectionately I refer to them as my charges. I am also an on-call caregiver for a wonderful, worldly, spry 79 year old woman who used to be an internationally renowned anthropologist. Some months I am home only 4-10 days, and not always consecutively.
